#2: Getting into the Swing of Things

Its Blog Time

Here we are, already missing our self imposed weekly deadlines. Well… We knew it would take some getting used to and we will try to not make this a habit. One day removed from my bachelor party weekend, I’ll do my best to recount all the exciting things going on with the Bibites.

Video Production

Busy few weeks for video production. Skarix posted the final edit on the Tournament Jungle Round video right before sending her laptop in for repairs. We are really happy with this video and the production value keeps on getting better as Skarix becomes more influential with our work flow. If you haven’t checked it out yet its worth your time.

The redemption round script has been completed and Skarix will begin editing as soon as her laptop is back from repairs.

In other video news, we are in talks with a new collaborator to help us produce more short content. The hope is for shorts to supplement our long form content and bring in new members to our community. Our first planned short content is little highlight videos on all the tournament finalists.

Website Launch and Multiplayer

As you know we launched the updated website on July 29th. Since then we have gotten hundreds of visits to our first blog. Thanks for checking it out! We plan to continue blogging on a weekly basis so stay tuned. Most surprisingly, 12 of you have created Bibite accounts for no clear benefit to you. Maybe you wanted to lock-in a specific username? Regardless, we appreciate the enthusiasm.

Those accounts are the foundation for our planned Multiplayer experience where you will be able to create linked simulation realms and invite others to join them. Your account will also eventually allow to you to buy server credits to run simulations remotely or check out realm stats that you are subscribed to. I am working on this with Sly in parallel to BIOME

BIOME

Leo and Aleo have been in the lab cooking up BIOME features for the past few weeks. A lot of bug fixing and structural work as we get ready to share the next Patreon BIOME Alpha release in about 3-4 weeks.

Procedural Sprites

Speaking of the BIOME Alpha, we are targeting it as the first version with procedural sprites integrated. Gavin is working with Leo to get his current work integrated into the BIOME branch. We are excited to share with the Patreon to get early feedback
